Make sure to read the full article to get all the real and accurate information on how to purchase your Inti Raymi tickets safely and reliably. Don’t miss out on this unique celebration, the most important festival of the Inca culture, and book in advance with confidence.

Unlike other events and tourist attractions, there is no way to buy Inti Raymi tickets online. Local entities responsible for organizing the event (EMUFEC) do not offer the option to buy tickets online, so you must explore other alternatives.

Other ways to obtain Inti Raymi tickets when online purchase is not possible

The best option to get your Inti Raymi tickets is to trust a travel agency with a presence in Cusco. These agencies have direct contact with local entities, such as EMUFEC, the institution in charge of the event, and can ensure a safe and hassle-free ticket purchase management.

Additionally, a local travel agency in Cusco can keep you informed of any changes in ticket availability and ensure you have personalized attention during your visit to Inti Raymi.

Why trust a travel agency?

  1. They accept online payments: Many travel agencies offer the option of making online payments, allowing you to buy your Inti Raymi tickets quickly and safely from anywhere in the world. This eliminates the need to travel to Cusco to make the purchase in person.
  2. They offer additional services: By relying on a travel agency to purchase your tickets, you can also take advantage of other additional services, such as professional tour guides and private transportation. This will allow you to enjoy a more complete and personalized experience during your visit to Inti Raymi.
  3. They help with organization: Travel agencies can assist you with all the details of your visit to Inti Raymi, from booking accommodations and transportation to organizing personalized tours. This will allow you to enjoy the festival without worrying about organizational details.
  4. They have precise timings: Travel agencies have experience in the destination and know the precise timings for each activity of Inti Raymi. They will ensure that you do not miss any important details of the festival and guide you to make the most of your visit.

How is the ticket purchase process with our travel agency?

At our travel agency, we understand that purchasing tickets for Inti Raymi can be a complicated and risky process. In previous editions, we have seen numerous scams from other agencies that request 100% payment of ticket value, which can generate doubts and mistrust among customers.

Therefore, we offer the option to reserve your Inti Raymi tickets with only 50% of the total value and pay the rest when you arrive in the city. This payment option is not only convenient for our customers, but it is also a protective measure to avoid any type of scam and guarantee their safety and peace of mind.

What payment methods does our travel agency accept?

In 2024, my husband Michael and I embarked on a 15-day trip to Peru that we had booked from our home in Washington D.C. We had been eagerly anticipating this adventure for months, and it exceeded all our expectations. During our trip, we had the pleasure of visiting some of the most incredible places in the country, including the Huacachina Oasis, Colca Canyon, Machu Picchu, Humantay Lake, and, since we were there in June, we had the unique opportunity to witness the Inti Raymi celebration.

Our first stop was the Huacachina Oasis, a small desert paradise surrounded by towering sand dunes. We spent our time there sandboarding, riding dune buggies, and relaxing by the oasis, soaking in its beauty. Next, we headed to the Colca Canyon, one of the world’s deepest canyons. The breathtaking views and the sight of the majestic Andean condors soaring above the canyon were unforgettable.

The highlight of our trip was, without a doubt, Machu Picchu. The ancient Inca citadel, nestled high in the Andes mountains, was awe-inspiring. We spent hours exploring the ruins, learning about the history and culture of the Inca people, and marveling at the engineering and architectural feats of this remarkable civilization.

After Machu Picchu, we journeyed to Humantay Lake, a stunning turquoise lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The hike to the lake was challenging but rewarding, as the scenery was absolutely mesmerizing. We took our time at the lake, appreciating the tranquility and the beauty of the landscape.

As luck would have it, our trip coincided with the Inti Raymi festival, an ancient Inca celebration honoring the sun god. We were fortunate enough to attend the vibrant festivities, complete with traditional music, dances, and colorful costumes. The energy and passion of the performers were truly captivating, making this experience one we will never forget.

Now, at the ages of 60 and 58, Michael and I cherish these memories more than ever. Our journey to Peru was an unforgettable experience, filled with adventure, beauty, and a deeper understanding of the rich history and culture of this incredible country. We are grateful for the memories and the stories we have to share with our friends and family, and we hope to return to Peru someday to continue exploring its wonders.

If you plan to attend the ceremony, it is recommended to book a trip and purchase a ticket at least a month in advance to secure a good spot in the Inti Raymi stands. As it is one of the most important and popular events of Andean culture, tickets sell out quickly, and it’s important to plan ahead to avoid disappointment.
Where is Inti Raymi celebrated?
Inti Raymi is a ceremony celebrated in the city of Cusco, Peru. The ceremony consists of three scenes or acts that take place in different locations within the city. The first scene is held at Qoricancha, an ancient Inca temple dedicated to the sun. The second scene takes place at the Main Square of Cusco, also known as the Plaza de Armas. The third and final scene is celebrated at the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, located on the outskirts of the city. This last scene is considered the most important and the longest in duration. To witness the ceremony from close and reserved locations, it is necessary to purchase a ticket in advance.
What activities take place during Inti Raymi?
During the celebration of Inti Raymi, various activities and rituals are performed in the three stages where the ceremony takes place. In the first scene, at Qoricancha, offerings and religious ceremonies dedicated to the sun are performed. In the second scene, at the Main Square of Cusco, a procession takes place with the participation of priests and local authorities. In the third and final scene, at the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, the main ceremony is held, paying homage to the sun with Andean dances and music. The ceremony includes the representation of the Inca, who is carried on a litter by priests and local authorities, and offers a tribute to the sun.
How much does the entrance to Inti Raymi cost at the different ceremony locations?
The cost of entrance to Inti Raymi varies depending on the location and type of seating desired, as well as the nationality, age, and origin of the attendees. In the ceremony at Qoricancha, the cost per seat can range between $10 and $25. Entrance to the Plaza del Cusco is free and open to the general public. Since Inti Raymi is a unique event that takes place once a year, it is not possible to reschedule a ticket for another date. It is important to consider the event date when purchasing the ticket and plan the trip well in advance to ensure ticket availability and avoid any inconvenience. It is recommended to review the cancellation and refund policies when purchasing tickets to have the necessary information in case of unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, it is important to note that during Inti Raymi, the demand for tickets and accommodation in Cusco is usually high, so it is advisable to make reservations in advance to secure a spot.

Is it possible to resell an Inti Raymi ticket?

During 2024, the entrance control for Inti Raymi did not require the verification of people’s identities when entering the stands located in Qoricancha or Sacsayhuaman. Due to this, it is possible that this year, 2024, the transfer or resale of Inti Raymi tickets to other individuals may be allowed. However, it has not been officially announced yet if this will be permitted by EMUFEC, the organizing entity of the event. It is recommended to stay tuned to official communications for more information.

How long does Inti Raymi last?

Inti Raymi is a celebration that takes place in different stages and has a total duration of approximately 2 to 3 hours, not including the breaks between each stage. Are there restrooms available during Inti Raymi?

Yes, there are basic restrooms available in the different areas where the Inti Raymi ceremony takes place, such as at Qoricancha, the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, and the Sacsayhuaman fortress.
